Top 6 UK Health Food Influencers

There are more people eating healthy food in the UK than ever before. Whether it’s to follow a trend, improve health, or protect the environment or animals through conscientious food choices, our cities have been fostering growing communities of health food fanatics for many years now.

According to the Vegan Society, over half of UK adults now adopt “vegan buying behaviour”, while the number of full-time vegans has grown substantially in the last 10 years. Although this is only one indicator of the UK’s appetite for healthier food, we can see from this mainstream uptake of food principles that were once ‘alternative’, that people are approaching their weekly meals differently today.

At Silvina’s Nature we’re delighted to see such enthusiasm when it comes to healthy eating and caring about what we put in our bodies. Whether it’s going vegan or simply cutting down your sugar and carb intake, taking control of your diet is a great way to give your mind and body a wellness boost.

Having said this, there’s no reason to sacrifice on taste when you’re trying to be healthier or more conscious about your food choices – so in this vein, here is our top six list of UK health food influencers to keep the spirit alive.

Ciara McDermott (@mylilchickpea)

With a fair amount of exotic travelling, fitness inspiration and the occasional dog photo, my lil chickpea is our number one health food influencer page. Based in Liverpool and studying vegan nutrition, Ciara McDermott also blogs about how her food choices have helped her become a healthier, happier and stronger person.

Minimalist Baker

A great reference point for anyone looking for some simple food inspiration, Minimalist Baker offer tonnes of recipe ideas that take 30 minutes or less to prepare and require minimal ingredients. A visually amazing page of food art if nothing else, this page is great to get you in the mood for cooking up some healthy vegan and vegetarian dishes this summer.

Sean o’Callaghan (@Fatgayvegan)

Lucy Watson

Made in Chelsea star Lucy Watson has made a name for herself for more than just her TV appearances. What we love about this page (in addition to how excellently curated it is) is how it brings so much attention to making good food choices – bringing the world of healthy eating to so many modern viewers!

Enjoy the vegan (@elizanoodle)

Enjoy the Vegan @elizanoodle has created one of our favourite pages on Instagram. We love it because it’s so accessible. With some great everyday recipes and a fair share of tasty treats, we think this is what healthy eating is all about – trying your best when you can, but not killing yourself when you just can’t resist that tasty snack.

🇩🇪 BERLIN 🇩🇪 Second day breakfast at @cafeneundrei in Mitte, located on a quiet street about five minutes from Hackescher Markt s-bahn station 🌿 All vegan options were clearly labelled & there was plenty to choose from. We finally settled on rice pudding with cherry compote, yoghurt & granola, banana bread with a cheesecake layer(!!!), matcha & chai lattes 💚 #veganberlin #veganinberlin #veganvietnamese #berlin #germany #mitte #plus84berlin #vegan #veganbreakfast #veganfood #veganeats #veganlunch #veganfoodshare #veganfoodporn #veganfoodlover #veganfoodie #veganfoodlove #vegansofig #vegansofinstagram #vegansofinsta #govegan #bevegan #whatveganseat #vegansofinsta #whatthefuckdoveganseat #dairyfree #eggfree #plantbased #plantbasedliving

We tried hard to whittle down this list to just six, but in all honesty there are so many inspirational health foodie Instagram pages out there today that are worthy of a mention. At Silvina’s Nature, we believe that it’s important to think about what you put in your body in terms of health and your ethics, but by no means does this mean you need to sacrifice in taste or deny yourself when your body is craving for a little indulgence!
